| SOILS TESTING
Different industries, from highway construction to mining, have different needs related to the use of soils. Intermountain Testing does everything from testing the in-place density of soil and hydrometer analysis of fine particles to more sophisticated lab and field testing of soil permeability. We perform extensive work involving quality control of construction projects. Intermountain Testing evaluates on site materials to determine what is needed to meet and exceed project specifications. By having experienced personnel on site Intermountain Testing is able to closely monitor all phases of construction, thereby MINIMIZING problems and saving contractor valuable time and expense.
We also specialize in the evaluation of the integrity of welds of HDPE liners, using both physical test methods and skilled field inspectors to monitor the installation.
ASPHALT TESTING
Construction material is not consistent in composition, even when the same manufacturing or application method seems to be used from batch to batch. In some cases, even a seemingly negligible variation from specification can result in excessive penalties. It seems much wiser and far less expensive to have a project monitored step by step, rather than to incur penalties for product deviation from specifications. Our engineers are available to design an asphalt mix that will perform exactly as predicted.
Included in our work resumes are inspections and testing of airport runways meeting rigid Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) standards, perhaps the toughest of all construction specifications.
We also test viscosity graded asphalts for their physical properties to ensure the product will perform as required. We do all of the testing for design and acceptance of bituminous pavements.
Also, we are able to do testing with a nuclear oil content gauge. This offers continuous monitoring with less time wasted waiting for results.
